Democratic Members of House Committee On Veterans’ Affairs Announce Vice Ranking Member, Subcommittee Ranking Members for 115th

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Democratic Members of the House Committee On Veterans Affairs voted to elect their Vice Ranking Member and Subcommittee Ranking Members for the 115th Congress. The House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Ranking Member Tim Walz (D-MN) along with the newly elected Vice Ranking Member and Subcommittee Ranking Members released the following statements:

“Over the past two Congresses, we have passed bills to benefit our nation’s veterans, their survivors, and their beneficiaries. We should be very proud of the work we have done and will continue to do. Now more than ever, we will need to fight even harder to protect our nation’s 22 million veterans,” Rep. Walz said. “That is why it is an honor to serve alongside Democratic members who demonstrate their passion and commitment to serving veterans every day. I congratulate the members who were elected to Committee leadership, and I look forward to working closely with them as we work to uphold our shared promise to serve and protect those who have served.

The Vice Ranking Member, Rep. Mark Takano, said, “It continues to be an honor and privilege to help ensure America’s veterans receive the care and support they have earned. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to build on the progress we’ve made and meet the challenges facing veterans in my district and across the country."

Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Health and Acting Ranking Member of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee, Rep. Julia Brownley, said “We owe our men and women who have served in uniform our unwavering support, and I stand ready to fight for our nation’s veterans in Congress. I am honored to continue to serve as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Health and as the temporary Ranking Member on the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee.  We need to roll-up our sleeves and get to work to find bipartisan solutions to improve the delivery of healthcare and the timely and accurate processing of veterans claims, so that our nation’s veterans receive the care and benefits that they have earned and deserve.”

Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity, Rep. Beto O’Rourke said, "We have a golden opportunity to better support service members as they transition into civilian life. I look forward to working with Rep. Jodey Arrington, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity to make sure veterans across Texas and the nation get the support that they have earned.”

Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, Rep.
