WASHINGTON, D.C— Today, the House of Representatives passed two bipartisan bills brought to the floor by the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs in line with Chairman Takano’s priorities. These bills will help modernize VA medical facilities and ensure opioids can be safely disposed. Rep. AllredRep. Miller-Meeks, and Rep. Trone introduced companion legislation in the House.

“If we’re going to build back veterans’ trust in VA, we have to start making serious investments in the outdated infrastructure meant to serve them. Today, the House took critical steps to support our nation’s veterans by passing legislation to modernize VA medical facilities across the country and ensure controlled substances can be safely disposed,” said Chairman Takano. “I thank my colleagues for joining me in passing these bills, and thank Rep. Allred, Rep. Miller-Meeks, and Rep. Trone for introducing companion legislation in the House.”
