WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Chairman Mark Takano (D- Calif.) released the following statement after President Biden announced that he will nominate Patricia Ross—long time Senior Policy Advisor to Speaker Pelosi-- to serve as Assistant Secretary of Congressional and Legislative Affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“I’m elated that President Biden has nominated Patricia Ross to serve as Assistant Secretary of Congressional and Legislative Affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She’s long been a staunch veterans advocate on Capitol Hill, helping shepherd key legislative victories for veterans like the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act and the Deborah Sampson Act through Congress. She has made her work on veterans policy personal-- with her seasoned experience and intricate knowledge of Capitol Hill, she will be a tremendous asset to VA. I look forward to working with her in this new role and am grateful veterans will continue to have her fighting on their behalf.”
