Acting Ranking Member Takano Releases Statement on Service and Sacrifice
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.), Acting Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement on the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans and their families.
“The truest test of our patriotism is the support and respect we show for America’s veterans and their families, regardless of faith, ethnicity, or gender. The men and women who have fought for our freedom – and the families that have watched loved ones put on the uniform – have made sacrifices that most Americans cannot begin to imagine or understand. This is particularly true for Gold Star families. I am stunned that their sacrifice has become a subject of debate.
"I hope veterans and families across the nation and servicemembers around the world know that the American people hold them in the highest regard. Their service and sacrifice on behalf of our freedom will never be forgotten."
